ABOUT US

OUR STORY
K&G Global’s origins can be traced back to two (of eight) professors, Katheryn Ward and Monique Germain, assigned to work, through a grant funded to Chicago State University by USAID, with partnering universities and colleges in South Africa’s KwaZulu Natal Province. The purpose of the project was to transform South Africa’s education system by developing policies and systems, building capacity in business and health services curricula, governance, quality assurance, and HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention. With over 50 years of experience as educators, medical and business practitioners, community developers and the South Africa education project, Katheryn Ward and Monique Germain, along with Esther Ramusi, Outreach Director, South Africa, established K&G Global Concept, Inc.
In 2013, a sister entity was established, K&G Global Initiative, a not-for-profit organization created to help further the goals set by K&G Global Concepts. Founder, Katheryn Ward, used the concept of the South African Project to serve as the basis for the establishment of K&G Global Initiative. The programs expanded to include education development and training, health maintenance and prevention, small business development, gender equity and empowerment of women, leadership development and international education and culture seminars—in Chicago and South Africa.
In 2017, Ward, Gwendolyn Maxi-Brown, PhD, Joseph Balogun, PhD, Patricia Jones, PhD, Elisa Fredericks, PhD, Undine Stinnette, Millicent Collier, Christopher Ward, and four other African American professors decided to advance K&G Global Initiative to an institute of higher learning, forming K&G Global Institute. They were determined to provide opportunities for professionals to advance in their careers, help train the workforce in various industries, and to broaden the education opportunities of students by providing a globalization program, with learning experiences and cross-cultural studies in several European countries and existing partnering colleges in South Africa; Uganda, Ghana, and Botswana.
